The event brought together a diverse group of people, all dedicated to supporting causes that touch the lives of countless individuals. the event was a shining beacon of hope and change. From suicide prevention and helping women escape domestic violence to supporting the LGBTQ+ community, civil rights, and providing nourishment to those in need through Project Angel Food was an easy yes for Founder Skylar Taylor to be passionate about. Even more humbling and worth mentioning is the way the relationed forged by ex councilman, and criminal attorney John Duran, friend and attorney of Skylar created for Project Angel food and Mr. Taylor. In moments of need our community steps up! Even during a HIV/AIDS epidemic! Even during a pandemic! What does that say about the beautiful souls around us? More on that coming soon.

One individual (Skylar Taylor- Founder CEO of Taylor Melrose) who has been at the heart of this humanitarian mission for years shared their heartfelt sentiments about the event. In a touching message, they expressed their gratitude, saying, "Thank you for filling my cup when I need it most!" They not only donated to the silent auction but also volunteered to help out. This is the essence of what it means to be a purpose-driven, lifelong humanitarian. The belief that the more one gives, the more one receives was beautifully embodied by this individual.

The Angel Awards is not just about giving, but also about recognizing and honoring those who have shown exceptional support for Project Angel Food and the marginalized communities they serve. This year, the event made history by presenting the inaugural Sheryl Lee Ralph Legacy Award.
